Hearing Dogs for Deaf PeopleWest Yorkshire Dog Rescue have an ongoing relationship to supply puppies and young dogs to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People whose job it will be to ensure deaf people live as normal a life as possible.

If you have an unwanted dog fitting the description below and are prepared to donate it to us, we have a specialist foster who ensures they are well prepared for the assessment.

  • Around 70% of dogs are selected from rescue centres or similar.
  • They look for small or medium-sized puppies or young dogs (under three years of age) mongrel, crossbreed or pedigree other than guarding breeds or working strain collies.
  • Hearing dogs need to have a friendly disposition, good temperament and a confident character, and should be reliable in all situations.
  • If you have a young dog or an unwanted litter of pups please get in contact with us
